Sport Lisboa e Benfica, also known as SL Benfica or simply SLM is a football-based sports club located in Lisbon, Portugal. Founded on February 28, 1904, the club is formerly called Sport Lisboa. In 1908 it merged with Grupo Sport Benfica and renamed Sport Lisboa e Benfica. Benfica is a founding member of Primeira Liga in 1933 and never been relegated from then on. It is also the second football club to win Champions League title in European football history and holds the record of 7 Champions League final played.
